Does Pure Protein Air Dried expire?

Pure Protein Air Dried should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Additionally, once opened, they should be consumed within 30 days or stored in an airtight container to maintain freshness. If food is transferred from their original bag, make sure the oxygen scavenger is also placed in the new container. This prevents mold from forming on the food.

Questions? We have the answers!

Why Fresh Frozen?

At Full Moon, we’ve set out to feed our dogs the same nourishing ingredients we’d feed ourselves.

Flash freezing allows us to deliver the highest quality ingredients at their peak nutrition in the least processed way. We don’t add any preservatives, so you’re able to conveniently store food longer (up to a year!) and still feel at peace knowing you’re offering a healthy meal, each time.

How is Freshly Crafted™ made?

We take pride in sourcing the meat in our recipes from Perdue Family Farms, where all animals are raised ethically and without use of antibiotics.

Starting in small batches, we gently cook the meat and liver in USDA-compliant facilities, flash freeze, and mix with frozen, raw vegetables. From beginning to end, we uphold the highest standards to be truly human grade.

Our unique individually frozen format allows you to easily scoop as little or as much as you want, or simply pour directly from the bag and serve. Easier for you, better for your dog.

How much should I serve my dog?

It depends! The weight and activity level of your dog can influence how many servings of food they need. Complete this short quiz to learn what’s best for them.

If you’re on a budget, Freshly Crafted makes for a great topper. Supplementing with Freshly Crafted is easy way to make their food tastier and more nutritious. Elevate your dog’s meals in a way that works for you.

Why is there a 3 bag order minimum?

Freshly Crafted ships frozen with lots of dry ice to keep the food cold in transit and while it waits on your doorstep. It's our responsibility to make quality dog food as accessible as possible and to minimize our carbon footprint from shipping, so we require a minimum of 3 bags per order and encourage ordering a month's worth of food at time.

How do I transition my dog to Freshly Crafted?

Switching to a new food can be challenging for your dog, especially shifting from kibble to fresh. We recommend slowly introducing your dog to Freshly Crafted over a course of a week by following this guidance:

Days 1-2: Introduce with only 25% of the meal.
Days 3-4: Increase to 50% of the meal.
Days 5-6: Increase to 75% of the meal.
Day 7: Fully transition to a complete Freshly Crafted diet.

We know not all dogs have the same preferences, so we've made our food versatile to serve:  frozen (for a firmer texture!), thawed at room temperature, or gently warmed in the microwave on defrost.

Turkey for a change

"I normally feed my two Maltese dogs the beef recipe but one of my girls is weighing in at 10 lbs and the other at 8, so I decided maybe change to turkey recipe. It’s only been a month but they both seem to love it. I transitioned them slowly over the past month by ordering one turkey bag extra with my beef recipe."

Lori R. (5/5)

Excellent

"After I started giving my dog Full Moon blended in with his other food, he would pick the Full Moon turkey recipe out of his bowl and has now refused to eat anything else. It’s really good."

Kimberly K. (5/5)

These are just ok.

"My picky eater doesn't care for the Turkey recipe, she like's chicken and beef. I didn't want it to go to waste so I donated it to my neighbors' dogs, they loved it. Oh well, can't please everyone."

Jennifer D. (4/5)

So sad

"2 out of 3 won't eat it. Don't get excited about the 1 who will eat it, she will eat anything."

Cheryl G. (5/5)

Turkey dinner

"Grace would not touch the turkey. Can't tell you why. But she just refused to try it. I did notice it has a stronger odor and I don't know that put her off or not."

Linda D. (2/5)

High Value Reward

"Ordered on the recommendation of a professional dog trainer. This is the only food/treat I’ve found that is of high enough value for my high-strung dog (red heeler/belgian malinois mix) to train impulse control in fight or flight type situations. Lolly loves all the flavors of Full Moon air dried food, and I feel good about giving her healthy food during daily training sessions."

Olivia M. (5/5)

I’m ready to give up

"I have two little four pound Chihuahuas. They’re so hard to figure out. All they want is raw hamburger and duck jerky. I was impressed with your product but they won’t eat it, just like everything else I’ve tried. Thank you very much for caring, but I will be passing your product on to someone else’s dog. I don’t think I had a subscription, but if by chance I did, please cancel it. I make them suffer with eyedroppers full of vitamins and my finger covered with vitamin powders. I wish they would eat a product that I don’t have to worry about when I’m traveling with them a lot. Oh well, thank you"

susan h. (5/5)

It’s too hard!

"My dogs won’t really eat it😢"

Kathi B. (2/5)

Picky dogs

"My picky dogs would not eat it. They food did appear to nutritious and we'll made."

Pat S. (5/5)

Artemis loves it!

"I mix this in with Artemis's food, and she cleans the bowl! She is a super picky siberian husky, but this did the trick. We are big fans❤️"

Q&A

How many bags would I need for two dogs that weigh 130 pounds each it seems it would take a lot to feed them and if I did buy this product, how much would I feed my dog each serving?
Hi Sharon! Great question! Our largest size is a 2-lb bag. For a 130-lb dog, the daily amount is 2 cups plus an extra 1/4 cup for every 10 lbs over 50 lbs—which comes out to 4 cups daily per dog. With two big, beautiful pups, you would go through about one 2-lb bag every two days. Hope this helps!🐾❤️
Is this food hard or chewy? My Yorkie has had a few teeth pulled.
Hi Diane! Our Air Dried food has a jerky-style texture! Since your Yorkie has had teeth pulled, we recommend checking with your vet to ensure this is a great fit!❤️✨
How much crude fat is in this. My dog has pancreatitis??
Hi Christina! Our Air Dried Turkey has a minimum Crude Fat content of 29.0%. 🐶❤️ We recommend checking with your vet to make sure this is a great fit for your pup! ✨
We have our 1st bag of Chicken and our dog loves it!! But a 1lb bag…?!? Will you be offering other quantities soon?
Hi Elaine! So glad to hear your dog is loving the chicken! We’re always open to feedback, and if we do release a larger size, we'll be sure to let everyone know!❤️🐾
How many cups are in the bag? It's hard to figure cost without this information.
Hi Dawn! Great question. A 1 lb bag has approximately 5 cups, and a 2 lb bag has approximately 10 cups. ❤️🐾
