Does Pure Protein Air Dried expire?

Pure Protein Air Dried should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Additionally, once opened, they should be consumed within 30 days or stored in an airtight container to maintain freshness. If food is transferred from their original bag, make sure the oxygen scavenger is also placed in the new container. This prevents mold from forming on the food.

Questions? We have the answers!

Why Fresh Frozen?

At Full Moon, we’ve set out to feed our dogs the same nourishing ingredients we’d feed ourselves.

Flash freezing allows us to deliver the highest quality ingredients at their peak nutrition in the least processed way. We don’t add any preservatives, so you’re able to conveniently store food longer (up to a year!) and still feel at peace knowing you’re offering a healthy meal, each time.

How is Freshly Crafted™ made?

We take pride in sourcing the meat in our recipes from Perdue Family Farms, where all animals are raised ethically and without use of antibiotics.

Starting in small batches, we gently cook the meat and liver in USDA-compliant facilities, flash freeze, and mix with frozen, raw vegetables. From beginning to end, we uphold the highest standards to be truly human grade.

Our unique individually frozen format allows you to easily scoop as little or as much as you want, or simply pour directly from the bag and serve. Easier for you, better for your dog.

How much should I serve my dog?

It depends! The weight and activity level of your dog can influence how many servings of food they need. Complete this short quiz to learn what’s best for them.

Why is there a 3 bag order minimum?

Freshly Crafted ships frozen with lots of dry ice to keep the food cold in transit and while it waits on your doorstep. It's our responsibility to make quality dog food as accessible as possible and to minimize our carbon footprint from shipping, so we require a minimum of 3 bags per order and encourage ordering a month's worth of food at time.

How do I transition my dog to Freshly Crafted?

Switching to a new food can be challenging for your dog, especially shifting from kibble to fresh. We recommend slowly introducing your dog to Freshly Crafted over a course of a week by following this guidance:

Days 1-2: Introduce with only 25% of the meal.
Days 3-4: Increase to 50% of the meal.
Days 5-6: Increase to 75% of the meal.
Day 7: Fully transition to a complete Freshly Crafted diet.

We know not all dogs have the same preferences, so we've made our food versatile to serve:  frozen (for a firmer texture!), thawed at room temperature, or gently warmed in the microwave on defrost.

Reviews

Dried Beef Recipe

"I give it 3 stars only because I believe it is good for my dogs. . . . if they ate it. They wouldn't touch it and on top of that, the smell is atrocious! If your pup doesn't eat it up all the way at first, your house will start smelling like old meat."

Juliana D. (3/5)

Full moon, pure protein, dried dog food, beef

"My dogs love full moon. This is the first time they’ve ever really liked a dog food and I appreciate it. The only thing I would do is make the pieces smaller for a little dogs like Chihuahuas, etc. . because I have one dog has no teeth"

Debbie H. (5/5)

My dog liked them

"I have been getting your products for a number of years now, so please do not ask me for a review after I receive every order. I have a subscription and that’s enough. Thank you, Wendy Gladston."

Wendy G. (5/5)

Air Dried Beef

"Although my dog likes this food; it has a horrible smell. Beef is the worst, then Turkey. I will probably only order chicken from now on as it has the least smell"

Linda H. (4/5)

Pure protein air dried beef

"My dog really liked it. But he needs over 2 cups a day. It would cost way too much to buy for him all the time. It would be good if it was offered in larger bags."

Gwyn S. (5/5)

Dried Beef Dog Food

"Sorry to give a low review, my yorkie Sophie will not eat this. I am sure other dogs will, but she is very picky. She does likes the sticks"

Barb B. (1/5)

They love it

"This is great. I got five bags because my fur babies loved it so much Will order again!"

Samantha R. (5/5)

My 3 Dogs Like these!

"My three dogs are pretty picky but they all enjoy this."

Glen B. (5/5)

"Makes great training treats and food topper"

Jackie s. (5/5)

Q&A

Why is this food only for senior dogs? Will my 1.5 year old pup be able to eat it? What about a younger puppy?
Hi Rose! While we highlight seniors, this food is perfectly safe for any pup over 1 year old! ✨ Both of our food lines are recommended for dogs who have reached that one-year milestone.🐶❤️
I have 2 large dogs. Do you have larger bags available? I would like to see a 5lb or 10 lb bag.
Hi Kelly! We hear you! Currently, our 2 lb bag is our largest size, but we love that feedback and I'll be sure to pass your request for bigger bags along to our team! ❤️🐾
In looking at the ingredients of the beef recipe, it looks like it contains some poultry. Did I read that correctly? One of my GSDs seems to be allergic to poultrydawnb.ad , so I tend to stay away from foods containing it. Thanks
Hi Dawn! Thank you for your question. Yes, that’s correct—the beef recipe does contain poultry. If your dog has a poultry allergy, we recommend avoiding it. Hope this helps! ❤️🐾
about how many cups are in a 2lb bag?
Hi Ellen! Thank you for your question! A 2 lb bag of our Air Dried Beef has about 10 cups ❤️🐾
Will it be easy to chew, as my senior dog has no teeth
Hi Marcia, if your senior dog has no teeth I do not think this would benefit it since they are meant to resemble a kibble.
