Over what period should I transition from my current pet food to Pure Protein Air Dried?

Switching to a new food can be challenging for your dog. Ease in for a smooth transition. Give yourself at least a week to introduce and properly get started on feeding Pure Protein Air Dried.   

  • Days 1-2: Introduce with only 25% of the meal. 
  • Days 3-4: Increase to 50% of the meal. 
  • Days 5-6: Increase to 75% of the meal. 
  • Day 7: Fully transition to a complete Pure Protein Air Dried diet.

Can I rotate different Pure Protein Air Dried proteins?

Yes, but only after you’ve successfully transitioned from your previous feed to Pure Protein Air Dried. We know not all dogs have the same preferences, so we’ve made our food versatile: each protein is made with the same kcals intentionally, helping you switch between your dog’s specific preference.

Does Pure Protein Air Dried expire?

Pure Protein Air Dried should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Additionally, once opened, they should be consumed within 30 days or stored in an airtight container to maintain freshness. If food is transferred from their original bag, make sure the oxygen scavenger is also placed in the new container. This prevents mold from forming on the food.

Flash freezing allows us to deliver the highest quality ingredients at their peak nutrition in the least processed way. We don’t add any preservatives, so you’re able to conveniently store food longer (up to a year!) and still feel at peace knowing you’re offering a healthy meal, each time.

Why is there a 3 bag order minimum?

Freshly Crafted ships frozen with lots of dry ice to keep the food cold in transit and while it waits on your doorstep. It's our responsibility to make quality dog food as accessible as possible and to minimize our carbon footprint from shipping, so we require a minimum of 3 bags per order and encourage ordering a month's worth of food at time.

A welcome relief!

"Long story, but my dog has a serious low blood sugar disorder and has to eat a lot and it seems he needs to be overweight a bit. He started only wanting to eat treats and not nutritionally complete dog food. Tried another brand of dehydrated food (after the brand he ate for a couple years and went off of) and that didn't work after a couple days. This stuff is truly incredible! He comes when I'm in the kitchen hoping to get some and dances around in circles. I have to add some carbohydrate biscuit treats so he also gets his carbohydrates. I don't think he'll get sick of this. Another thing is the texture is great: soft enough to break and chew but semi-crunchy like a treat."

Q&A

My dog loves the chicken jerky tenders, chicken sticks, and the mini chicken treats. I feed her Science Diet roasted chicken with carrots and spinach wet food. I add a few pieces of the treats I mentioned earlier to encourage her to eat. Problem is that she eats too much I guess because she keeps gaining weight and needs to lose 10#. She currently weighs 48# and is a mini goldendoodle. She litterly barks loudly to be fed or recieve treats. I'm well trained. Question is would feeding the air dried food as a topper be less calories than adding your treats? She's 3.5 yrs and eats 1.5-2 cans of food with 1/4-1/2 of your treats in her food and pieces of your treats throughout the day. Thank you for your help.

My five lb senior dog (Shih Tzu) doesn’t have many teeth anymore. Is it ok to soak it in just a bit of water, enough to soften but not drain.

hi, i got these and they are very hard. they are well in date and look and smell good. just so hard, they do not give under pressure. tried soaking in hot water and no difference. Are they all like this?
